The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Space Industry Council and U.S.-India Business Council (USIBC) is pleased to announce our ongoing series of webinars and events focused on promoting the U.S.-India space economy, including trade and investment in satcoms, geospatial services and commercial space.

Our discussion will cover U.S. government advocacy programs that can help American companies operate in the Indian market. Likewise, we will examine India’s new Policy Guidelines for Uplinking and Downlinking of Television Channels, which creates regional and global opportunities to promote and distribute content within India, but also utilize the country for regional broadcasts and/or as a global hub.

Our speakers include Mr. Vikram Sahay, Joint Secretary for Policy & Administration (P&A) at the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) will brief us on the new consolidated downlinking guidelines that streamlines permissions and facilitates setting up teleports, hubs, and the use of Digital Satellite News Gathering (DSNG) systems by improving temporary uplinking of a live event.

We are pleased to partner with the World Teleport Association (WTA) and Space and Satellite Professionals International (SSPI) which will provide a scene setter on the global teleport sector provided by Mike Antonovich, CEO, Commercial at US Electrodynamics, Inc., a seasoned industry expert. The conversation will be moderated by Mr. Abhishek Malhotra, Founding Partner at TMT Law Practice, and USIBC’s CSWG co-chair.

Ms. Carey Arun will talk about Commerce’s Advocacy Center Services that help U.S. companies enter and win foreign government contracts and other support services. Advocacy assistance is provided to businesses of all types and sizes, but you must apply and qualify to receive advocacy services. The service helps engagement with Indian officials supporting USG officials in-country and facilitates coordination across the Mission. Ms. Arun will focus advocacy for the aerospace and defense sector.
