2025 State of Space in New York State
The New York Space Business Roundtable convenes industry leaders, thinkers, entrepreneurs, and partners for a focused examination of where New York’s space economy stands and what its next phase genuinely requires.
This December session features Empire Space, whose work and data form the foundation of the program’s discussion. The Roundtable has extended its platform to Empire Space to explore their research, engagement, and strategic insights as a lens into the broader New York space ecosystem heading into 2026.
From Empire Space’s ecosystem mapping and census work to a candid needs assessment of New York space companies, the session prioritizes operational reality over narrative gloss. Topics include workforce development, testing infrastructure, connectivity, and the evolving role of Space Week New York as a strategic convening moment for the region.
Throughout the program, company spotlights will offer grounded perspectives from organizations navigating the ecosystem in real time. If you're a space and satellite company in the state of New York and would like to offer a presentation about what you do, and how being situated in New York is helping or challenging your business, let me know! We are looking for a couple of companies to feature during the program.
Finally, this event will be the launch pad for the effort to re-engage the Northeast Chapter of SSPI. For the past few years, the New York Space Business Roundtable has stood in the place of an actual Northeast Chapter. Beginning in 2026, we aim to support volunteers to envision a new SSPI Northeast. Your presence and your voice are needed. I hope you can make it!
