SSPI Calls for Nominations for the 2021 Space & Satellite Hall of Fame

(New York City, December 22, 2020) – Space & Satellite Professionals International (SSPI) today opened nominations for the 20th Induction to the Space & Satellite Hall of Fame. The new Inductees will be honored at the virtual Hall of Fame Celebration on March 23, 2021. Nominations are due by January 31, 2021.

The Space & Satellite Hall of Fame recognizes the invaluable contributions of the visionaries who have transformed life on planet Earth for the better through space & satellite technology. Members of the Hall of Fame are recognized pioneers in communications, satellite-related aerospace, scientific research, or the development and delivery of applications for business, institutions and government via space and/or satellite. They include Steve Collar of SES, Greg Wyler of OneWeb, Gwynne Shotwell of SpaceX, James Monroe III of Globalstar, John Celli of Space Systems Loral, David Thompson of Orbital ATK and Mark Dankberg of ViaSat as well as pioneers like Dr. John Pierce, Eddy Hartenstein, Rene Anselmo and Dr. Harold Rosen.

“Entry into the industry’s Hall of Fame is not just another award,” said executive director Robert Bell. “It is a once-in-a-lifetime honor for people who have commercialized truly breakthrough technologies, introduced transformative business models, opened new markets and established new foundations for progress, all for the ultimate bettering of life on Earth today and tomorrow. The Hall was founded by SSPI in 1987, and we are proud to be its custodian today.”
