About Mynaric

Laser Communication. Made scalable.

The world is on the brink of a radical change in telecommunications and laser communication is the technology that can meet the growing bandwidth requirements.

Mynaric is a high-volume manufacturer of secure, quickly deployable, large bandwidth, optical communications products to interconnect satellites, Unmanned Aerial Systems, aircraft, or high-altitude platforms with each other or with the ground. Our space and air terminals are serially produced ensuring reduced costs and allowing for large scale deployment with short lead times. Laser communication products allow high data transmission rates and long link distances of up to 7,500 km at data rates of multiple Gigabits per second.

Laser communication is highly resistant to interference and manipulation and not susceptible to electromagnetic interference (EMI). No frequency coordination by ITU (International Telecommunication Union) or FCC (Federal Communications Commission) required.

CONDOR – Optical Communications Terminal for Inter-Satellite Operations

The future requires expansion of existing network infrastructure in aerospace, which a number of companies and organizations around the world are working on. Benefits will accrue to industries (shipping, aviation, agriculture, extraction industries, etc), governments (troop networking, intelligence capabilities, etc) and end users (global broadband including developing countries) alike.

The CONDOR optical communications terminal is purpose built to address the growing need of high-performance, high-bandwidth, secure and reliable satellite communications for next-generation constellations. These versatile terminals enable intra-plane and cross-plane inter-satellite connectivity in various orbits and Space-Space, Space-Air or Space-Ground communication.

HAWK – Optical Communications Terminal for Air Operations

Information sovereignty is the basis of modern defense strategies. Next-generation military unmanned aerial systems (UAS, RPAS) will be highly networked to meet the requirements of future operational scenarios. Radio technologies will reach their limits in these scenarios, as their data rate and range are limited and their security is not always guaranteed (keyword jamming) - in addition, radio systems are easy to locate, making covert missions difficult.

The HAWK is an optical communications terminal for secure real-time communication with a wide array of airborne applications. It is manufactured with the most advanced optical wireless technology and designed for small size, weight and power (SWaP). The bidirectional and synchronous communication terminal is optimized for Air-Air and Air-Ground applications.
