Welcome to the Broadcasting & Satellite Network, the UK chapter of the Society of Satellite Professionals International. Members of the SSPI based in the UK or within easy travelling distance benefit not only from the normal SSPI advantages but also from events, networking, contacts and services run this side of the Atlantic. We are open to members from other countries and to those who are passing through. Most of our activities are concerned with finding out more about our own industry, keeping open to new opportunities and helping talent into the industry. No additional membership fee is payable… just the SSPI corporate or personal fee.
International Events: we list the BSN networking events in the same list as all the SSPI and international chapter events. This enables those that travel to benefit from our events anywhere in the world. This is a great benefit of the SSPI structure and of the warmth the SSPI HQ staff shows us. No xenophobia here, but then satellites are xenophiles aren't they... by the very technology which crosses boundaries so effectively.
The UK events are typically held at the office of a sponsoring host who might give us a presentation of their activities followed by a relaxed cocktail where members can get to know each other and the host company… the best of learning something new and being able to network in the industry. From time to time we have been privileged to benefit from exceptional hospitality. In March 2007 SES Astra provided air tickets for 40 UK based members to travel to Luxembourg for a day of briefings and hospitality at the Astra control centre and headquarters at the Chateau de Betzdorf. : BSN members can participate in any part of the SSPI forum on this web site, and there is now a dedicated page for topics related to the UK and Europe; click here. Note that you can set up you SSPI account online to receive alerts when messages on specific topics are logged by anyone.
Member contact list: when you’re a member you will have access to the email addresses of the BSN members, in fact all SSPI member… invaluable for making new friends in the business and keeping in contact. A complete list is not made available. In joining, you agree to have your email address and your company affiliation listed.

Where and When: please look at the Events page whenever you’re on line. Our networking events are sometime hosted at only a few weeks notice and you don’t want to miss any.
